The Science
Swiss Ephemeris (pyswisseph 2.10): accurate astronomical calculations to the thousandth of a degree from 13,000 BC to 17,000 AD. The planetary positions you read are the same published by JPL of NASA. No magic: orbital mathematics.
The Philosophy
2400 years of observing the sky as a mirror of humanity. From Plato (Timaeus) to Jung (synchronicity). Not because the planets cause, but because humanity has always sought patterns in the cosmos to make sense of chance.
The Geometry
Sinastry overlaps two natal charts and calculates the angles between the planets. Conjunctions (0°), oppositions (180°), trines (120°). It's spherical trigonometry applied. Nothing vague: numbers.

Fourth:we admit uncertainty. Perhaps the planets don’t really matter. Maybe it's all Forer effect and confirmation bias. But if the tool helps you talk about yourself and the other with more depth, it has anthropological value even if not predictive astronomical value.
